Iris + Bloodroot

Another bit of steam-venting; the script is close to being finished at least. grrrrr...

How and when she had come to be was little more than a vague blur in her memory, but that didn't really matter to her. The important things, the ones that were certain, were straightforward enough:

Her name was Iris. The sword was called Bloodroot. It had been given to her, to augment her already considerable power. And she was surrounded by ignorant fools with only two arms, who feared and disparaged her. And they were right to be afraid, for she was exponentially superior to them and she knew it. And she was more than willing to hammer home the point with her lightning or her blade if any of them dared to insult her within earshot. Many of them were wastes of life energy anyway and easily relieved of that energy with Bloodroot's help.

However, and for no particular reason she could determine, sometimes her power of lightning would inexplicably fail her, as if an invisible switch had been thrown somewhere, and the power would suddenly vanish. To make matters worse, during these periods she would often suffer sudden and irrational fits of compassion and pity towards those two-armed fools who irritated her so much. She was not certain which grated on her more, the inexplicable loss of power or the fits of compassion. Obtaining the Bloodroot had made these problems less noticeable, but they continued to lurk in the back of her mind.

One day she would learn the cause of these irritations, and they would be dealt with, just like the ignorant two-arms all around her. One day they would be purged. All of them...
