Adventuring in the world of Felarya is a hazardous proposition, especially if you are human-sized, since there's a good chance you'll be had for breakfast by the giant nagas which inhabit the forests. Kallisti learned this the hard way when she first came to Felarya, though she did ultimately turn the tables on the naga which ate her, and gained a new form in the process. Now she travels the world as predator rather than prey, providing protection to her worshippers as they hunt for treasure... sometimes eliminating the competition as only a Felaryan naga can.

Travelling in one of the more lightly-forested parts of Felarya, Kallisti and her disciple Laire encounter a mutual acquaintance in the form of the naga Crisis, and her human friend Léa.
