Up to this point the Wotch swimsuit photo shoot hasn't included the title character. This needed to be fixed, so I fixed it. Enter Anne Onymous, the Wotch herself. :)

Updated the USB driver for my tablet before starting this one, so the drawing tools all respond to pressure now. On the one hand that allows much finer control of lines and curves and enables some really keen cloud effects. On the other, the mouse promptly stopped working in the drawing window because it of course has zero pen pressure. Disabling Shape Dynamics in the brushes menu reactivates the mouse; I have yet to see what that does to the tablet though. This will take a little more getting used to. ^^;

Nicely done. The eyes are good but the sunglasses look like they took some work.

If the tools get the job done, then it's all good. I still do my line drawing by hand. On the one hand I'd like to get good enough with the tablet to do digital lineart, on the other I don't want to get so dependent on the technology that I can't do anything if the power goes out. ^^;

(And I know all about being broke. ^^; )

It's an Aiptek HyperPen 8000U ([link]). I got it for $90 at my local Fry's Electronics. Nothing fancy, just a basic tablet with a battery-powered pen and 3-button cordless mouse. The USB driver it ships with is WAY out of date: the pen works but Photoshop won't acknowledge it as a pressure-sensitive device until the driver is updated.

It's no Intuos3 by any stretch, but thus far it's getting the job done acceptably. (Of course I'd still like to upgrade to an Intuos someday.)
